With the Ziggo GO app, you can watch TV anywhere on your smartphone, tablet or laptop. As a Ziggo customer, you have access to all the channels in your package, wherever you are. Whether you are on the go, on vacation or simply want to watch in another room: Ziggo GO makes it possible. In this article we explain how to install the app and make the most of all its features.

What is Ziggo GO?

Ziggo GO is Ziggo's mobile TV app that lets you watch live TV and catch up on programs. The app is included in your Ziggo TV subscription and gives you access to the same channels you receive on your TV at home. Depending on your package, that is dozens to more than a hundred channels, including HD versions.

Besides live TV, Ziggo GO also offers replay for many channels. Missed a program? You can often still watch it up to 7 days later. You also get access to the Videoland library if you have a Ziggo package that includes Videoland, and you can rent movies through Movies & Series.

Installing and logging in to the Ziggo GO app

Download the Ziggo GO app for free from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The app is available for Android smartphones and tablets, iPhones and iPads. After installing, open the app and log in with your Ziggo ID. This is the same account you use for "Mijn Ziggo" (My Ziggo). Don't have a Ziggo ID yet? Then you can create one on the Ziggo website.

The first time you log in, the app asks for permission for certain features and you have to accept the terms of use. After that, you have immediate access to your TV package. The app remembers your login details, so you don't have to log in again every time.

Watching on multiple devices

You can use Ziggo GO on up to five registered devices. This means you can register, for example, your phone, tablet, laptop and two smart TVs. Simultaneous viewing is limited to two streams. If you try to start a third stream, you get a message saying you first have to stop watching somewhere else.

Watching live TV

After logging in, you immediately see the TV guide with all available channels. Scroll through the guide or use the search function to find a specific channel. Tap a channel to watch it live. The stream usually starts within a few seconds. You can watch in landscape mode for a full-screen experience.

The channels are organized by category, such as popular, news, sports, kids' channels and more. You can also create a favorites list of the channels you watch most. These favorites then appear at the top of your channel list for quick access.

Subtitles and audio tracks

Many channels and programs offer subtitles. While watching, you can tap the subtitles icon to turn them on or off. For some programs you can also choose between different audio tracks, for example for programs broadcast in multiple languages.

Replay and recording

A handy feature of Ziggo GO is replay. For many channels you can watch up to 7 days back. In the TV guide you can see for each program whether replay is available. Tap a previously broadcast program and choose replay to start it right away.

If you have a Ziggo media box at home with a recording feature, you can also manage recordings through Ziggo GO. You can schedule a recording from the app, which is then recorded on your media box. Later you can watch this recording at home on your TV. Note: playing recordings in the app itself is not always possible because of rights restrictions.

Movies & Series and Videoland

Through Ziggo GO you also have access to Movies & Series, Ziggo's on-demand service. Here you will find a large collection of movies and series that you can rent or buy. Prices vary depending on the title and whether it is a recent release. Movies are added to your account and you can watch them within 48 hours of starting.

If you have a Ziggo TV package that includes Videoland, you also have access to the complete Videoland library through Ziggo GO. This offers thousands of movies and series to stream. You can recognize Videoland content by the red Videoland logo in the app.

On vacation abroad

Ziggo GO also works abroad, but with limitations. Within the EU, you can keep watching most channels thanks to European regulations on digital accessibility. However, some channels and content are blocked outside the Netherlands because of broadcasting rights.

Outside the EU, functionality is more limited. Some channels don't work at all, while others are available. It depends on the specific contracts Ziggo has. If you plan to use Ziggo GO abroad, it is a good idea to test which channels work before you leave.

Quality and data usage

Ziggo GO automatically adjusts the video quality based on your internet connection. On a fast Wi-Fi network you get the highest quality, while on mobile data the quality is lowered to limit data usage. In the settings you can choose which quality you want on a mobile network.

Watching TV over mobile data can quickly use up your data bundle. An hour of streaming in high quality can easily cost 1 GB of data. It is a good idea to watch on Wi-Fi as much as possible. In the settings you can also make the app stream only on Wi-Fi to avoid unexpected costs.

Chromecast and AirPlay

Want to watch Ziggo GO on your TV without a smart TV or media box? The app supports Chromecast. Connect your phone to your Chromecast over the same Wi-Fi network and tap the cast icon in the app. The TV stream is then sent to your television while your phone works as a remote control.

For Apple users, AirPlay is available for some content. Availability can differ per channel because of rights restrictions. Not all channels support AirPlay, so you may get an error message on some channels when you try to cast.

Troubleshooting

Having problems with Ziggo GO? First check whether your internet connection works and is stable. Restart the app if streams don't load or stop halfway. It can also help to log out and log in again if you keep having problems.

If a specific channel doesn't work, this may be due to a temporary outage or maintenance. Check the Ziggo website or social media for current outage reports. For persistent problems, you can contact Ziggo customer service, who can help you further with solving technical issues.
