Step 1: Check the basics
Check your router
First, look at your router or modem. Are all the lights on as they should be?
What to check:
- Is the router turned on?

- Is the Wi-Fi light blinking?
- Is the power cable plugged in properly?
Check your device
Check the following:
- Is Wi-Fi turned on on your device?

Step 4: Check for outages
- Call your provider: Most providers have an outage line
- Check the website: Many providers have an outage map
- Social media: Look on Twitter or Facebook

- Open a browser and type your router's IP address (usually 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1)
