Forgot your Netflix password? Don't panic!

Did you forget your Netflix password? No problem! Netflix makes it easy for you to get back into your account. In this article we explain step by step how to recover your password.

Recover your password on the Netflix website

  1. Go to netflix.com and click Sign In
  2. Click Forgot password? below the sign-in fields
  3. Choose how you want to reset your password:
    • Email - You receive a recovery link
    • Text message (SMS) - You receive a code on your phone
  4. Follow the instructions in the email or enter the SMS code
  5. Create a new, strong password

  1. Open the Netflix app on your phone or tablet
  2. Tap Sign In
  3. Tap Forgot password?
  4. Enter your email address or phone number
  5. Follow the instructions to set a new password

Tips for a secure new password

  • Use at least 8 characters
  • Combine uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers and symbols
  • Do not use the same password as for other accounts

Can I change my password while I am logged in? Yes, go to Account > Change password in your Netflix settings.

Does this also work for shared accounts? Only the account holder can change the password. Other profile users have to contact the account holder.
