The web server is the software that serves visitors their pages. The three most-used web servers for WordPress are Apache, Nginx and LiteSpeed. Of these three, LiteSpeed is the fastest for WordPress, because it offers native support for the LiteSpeed Cache plugin. This plugin can cache complete pages at the server level, so they load extremely fast without the server having to run PHP.
