With a Reseller Hosting package from Theory7, you can offer hosting packages to your own customers independently as a reseller. You manage everything through DirectAdmin, the user-friendly control panel that comes standard with every package.

Logging in to your Reseller package

There are two ways to log in to your Reseller environment:

  1. Log in to My Theory7
  2. Go to Dashboard
  3. Click your Reseller package
  4. Under "One Click Login", click DirectAdmin

You are now logged in to DirectAdmin automatically, without needing separate login details.

Logging in directly via the server URL

You can also log in to DirectAdmin directly via the URL of your server. The URL depends on the server your package is on, for example:

Creating users (customers)

As a reseller, you can create your own user accounts for your customers. Each user gets their own DirectAdmin environment to manage their hosting, email and domains.

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin using one of the methods above
  2. Click Reseller in the top left to switch to the Reseller level
  3. Click Add New User
  4. Fill in the user details: username, password, email address and domain name
  5. Select the User Package (hosting package) you want to assign to the customer
  6. Click Create to create the account

The new user can now log in at the same server URL as you, but with their own login details.

Managing users

From the Reseller level in DirectAdmin, you can manage all your users:

  • List Users: an overview of all your customer accounts
  • Manage User Packages: create or edit hosting packages that you can assign to customers
  • Manage Ticket System: view support tickets from your customers

Letting your customers log in

Your customers can log in to their own DirectAdmin environment via the same server URL as your reseller account. They use the username and password you set when you created the account.

You can also have the welcome email sent to your customer automatically. To do this, go to List Users, click the "+" icon next to the user and choose Resend Welcome Email.

Setting up your own nameservers

Do you want to offer your reseller hosting entirely under your own brand name? Then you can create your own nameservers, for example ns1.yourcompany.nl and ns2.yourcompany.nl. This way, your customers see your company name instead of Theory7 in their DNS settings.

How does it work?

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin and go to the Reseller level
  2. Go to Create Nameservers
  3. Enter the nameserver hostnames you want (for example ns1.yourcompany.nl and ns2.yourcompany.nl)
  4. Then create a ticket with Theory7 listing the nameservers you want, so we can allow them on our side

Once Theory7 has approved them, you can use the nameservers for all your customer domains.

Setting up your own branding

As a reseller, you can give DirectAdmin your own house style, so your customers see your brand when they log in to their control panel.

In DirectAdmin, at the Reseller level, you can select or set up a custom skin under Skin Manager. Think of your own logo, color scheme and company name. This way, you offer your customers a professional, fully branded hosting experience.

CloudLinux: stable and secure hosting

All Theory7 shared hosting and reseller servers run on CloudLinux. This makes sure each user runs in their own isolated environment (LVE). If one of your customers uses a lot of resources, it has no impact on your other customers. This way, you guarantee stable hosting for all your customers.
